FINGS

Here are some fings I designed and made.

Gold and Grey and Heart

This was an arrangement I designed for a client who had some spare gold nuggets laying around, I mean don’t we all.

The grey stones were hand selected from the beach at Union Pier MI and that very black one is in the shape of a heart found on the beach.

The base is bark from a Oak tree (Red Oak obviously).

Light Fall

In the Tahoe house I had this 3 story wall that although was tiled in Porcelanosa’s Contour tile that mimics either the beach sand or the mountain contour lines. The wall needed an extra dimension.

So I designed and built this LightFall.  In the process I fabricated custom parts essentail for the install.  The ambient light given just made the space inviting and comfortable.

Window Controller

In the Tahoe House I move the awing windows to the top (in the front) for better air movement and exhaust of hot air that rises (no AC in the house).  I designed & developed an automated window controller for the 7 awning windows that opened and closed based on inside temperature with an override for rain and smoke from forest fires – all automated with sensors.  I probably went through a hundred iterations of designs and another hundred gear combinations.  It was cool.

Simple Screen

I designed and 3D printed these simple brackets to make these screens to fix the terrible floor plan in my condo.  The 2’x’2 plywood is precut at Home Depot and can be decorated hundreds of ways.

The Little Fings

Details make all the difference in good design.  I designed and fabricated floor vents out of angle iron and steel mesh for a industrial rustic look.

To get a respectable solid wood hand rail I had to fabricate a bracket out of 1/4″ steel and a 1/2″ bolt for a rock solid attachment to the wall

Hands

Gold and silver, or brass and aluminum which is a bit more affordable but less exotic.

Wooden Blocks

There are 20 of them. It wasn’t easy.
